Maryland retains the #1 ranking in this week’s All Pro President’s poll. The Terps Lacrosse Club used their depth and about a 20 year age advantage to hold off the 35 yr. and older Blarney Lacrosse Club of the Maryland Masters Lacrosse League. In a relatively quiet week for the TLC due to the Nor’easter that blew into the region last week, the win over the old guys was enough for the Terps to keep their lock on the top ranking.
While a few teams swapped a spot or two, there was very little movement in week 3 of the poll. The Terps face in-state rival Towson University Club and Chesapeake DI foe Delaware on Saturday in College Park. As spring break season approaches and another Nor’easter is set to dump on anyone north of the Mason-Dixon Line, these are a few of the only marquee match-ups for the coming week.
In DII, St. Joseph’s Club moves into the top spot as West Chester slips to number two after a lopsided loss to DI powerhouse Towson. The two Liberty DII foes will meet on March 23rd in a much anticipated match up. St. Joseph’s Club will face-off against Drexel Club today and West Chester has Cabrini Club up next.
With a 4-0 record, Akron shoots up from the 16th to the 7th spot in the DII All Pro President’s poll. Also moving up is Kentucky who scored a big win 11-10 victory over in-state rival and 4th-ranked Louisville. The Wildcats jump from number 25 to 15 and stay perfect with a 4-0 record.
