In DI, the Terps Lacrosse Club remain on top of this week’s DI All Pro President’s poll. After several weeks off, Salisbury Club came off break with authority. The Seagulls went to Towson University and beat the host Tigers in a 8-7 thriller that helped propel SU up four spots to #5 in DI. Towson, fell four spots to #10 and stand at 5-3 with a date with #2 Navy Club tomorrow. Ohio University and Penn State maintained the third and fourth spots respectively. With the forecast being anywhere from 1″ to 12″ plus of snow in the Mid-Atlantic this weekend, we’ll either see some interesting lacrosse or more missed opportunities.
West Chester stayed atop the DII poll, garnering 10 first place votes in week 7. The Golden Rams defeated #5 Rowan 5-3 last Saturday to add another quality victory to their resume. Despite being idle, Kutztown picked up a #1 vote and took the #2 spot in the DII poll dropping Akron to the #3 slot. #3 Akron boasts a 9-0 record and received 2 number one votes this week. St. Joseph’s and Rowan round out the top 5 this week. Stevens, UAB and CNU make appearances in this week’s top 25.
In our next edition of the NCLL podcast, we’ll be discussing all things related to the polls; what they mean, how they are conducted, and how accurate they are. Please leave your comments and questions regarding the polls here for us to address either on the pod or otherwise.
