Coming off a thrilling upset of then #12 Bloomsburg, Electric City (2-1) used a strong second half to pull away from Keystone Conference foe Lafayette College 8-5 Sunday in Easton, Pennsylvania.
Peter Rocco started the scoring early for the visitors as ECLC led 3-1 midway through the 2nd quarter on Rocco’s hat trick as the midfielder scored three straight. Running mate Pat Mooney pitched in with back to back assists on EMO as Lafayette adjusted accordingly to tie the contest at three apiece entering the half.
Coming out of the break, left hander Tyler Jordan stopped the Leopards momentum with ECLC’s fourth goal as Shane Reilly pushed the lead back to two at 5-3 as the sophomore finished a break-away goal off the assist from Jordan which was a direct result of Jonathane Berna’s outstanding effort off of a loose ground-ball from the ensuing face-off.
Lafayette would pull back within one once more as ECLC outscored the hosts 2-1 in 4th quarter on goals by Reilly and Shane Connell, who finished with a wicked half side arm high bouncer from a feed from Ryan Abrigo.
