After 48 hours of lacrosse the 2019 NCLL Fall Brawl’s Division I Playoff Bracket came down to Towson, JMU, Navy and the host Maryland Terrapins.
Despite a loss to a strong Penn State squad in the quarterfinals, the US Naval Academy advanced to the final four after the Nittany Lions announced they needed to return to their campus prior to face-off.
In a hard fought game that saw multiple lead changes and a furious second half comeback by the Dukes, JMU eventually succumbed to Navy by 1 goal. In the other final four match-up, the Towson Tigers topped Maryland to advance to their first Fall Brawl D1 Final.
Both semi-final games were hard fought and the 2 days of lacrosse had taken its tolls on most of the remaining players. So with the hours running late on a warm Sunday evening, the Midshipmen and Tigers decided to forgo the 60 minutes championship game and decided the overall championship in “Braveheart” fashion.
Check out our coverage of the Braveheart below, as well as our video recap of the two final four match ups.
