Rebel Sports Division I Rankings; Week 1

Yes we know, the season is more than 1 week old, but not every team has started playing so the first few polls may be spread out over the a few weeks of play. Once March hits and everyone is up and running, and playing official games, the Rebel Sports Weekly Poll will become just that….. a weekly poll.

Here’s this weeks top 20 Division Teams for Week 1.

Division I Top 20 – Week 1 Rankings February 24

2. James Madison
3. Towson
4. Penn State
5. Vermont
6. Virginia
7. Fordham
8. Albany
9. Providence
10. Hofstra
11. Villanova
12. Massachusetts
13. Michigan
14. Cincinnati
15. Fairfield
16. Rutgers
17. Delaware
18. Penn
19. Sacred Heart
20. Syracuse

Others Considered: Ohio State, Cornell, St. Joseph’s, Salisbury, Stony Brook, Loyola, Ohio University, Cortland.

Fordham makes the biggest jump in this weeks NCLL DI Rankings, climbing from 18th to 7th, after defeating the 5th ranked Fairfield in OT, 9-8. With the loss, the Stags falls from 5th to 15th.

Providence moves up to 9th from 14th, after defeating UMass 9-7. Despite sitting at 4-2,  Rutgers moves down slightly after losing to UMass and Villanova. Spekaing of Nova, they move up 5 spots after starting the season 2-0.
