Stevens Tech Midfielder Peyton Riser dominated the face-off circle, winning 80% of his draws to pave the way for the Ducks 8-6 win over the #17 ranked Fordham Rams (DI, NY Metro Conference).
A slow start by the Ducks offense left the game even at the half, but a strong showing by John Boutiera (3 goals) helped secure the win. Tucker Hine added 2 Goals, while Liam Regan, Roy Standing and Nick Marra added a goal each for the Ducks.
On the defensive side of the field, John Castro had a strong night in the nets, notching 8 saves for Stevens Tech.
Fordham got plenty of production from several underclassmen as sophomore Dante Corrado and Max Vitale contributed 5 of the Rams 7 goals, while Freshman Tristan Mitchie found the back of the net as well. Sophomore Brendan Hillins had the hit of the game late in the 4th quarter for the Rams, as the 3rd string fogo channeled his inner Thanos and went all squirrely eyed on a Ducks defender.
Fordham, who came into Thursday nights game with a 1-1 record, drops to 1-2 with both losses coming by a total of 3 goals. Fordham opened the season with a strong 7-5 win over Rutgers. The Rams will face Sacred Heart on March 31st.
Stevens will face NY Metro rival CCNY on Saturday.
