Less than 24 hours after taking down #10 Kutztown with a goal in the last 5 ticks of the clock, Millersville again found themselves in a dogfight as the Mustangs from Stevenson erased a 1st quarter 3-0 deficit to lead the visiting Marauders 5-4 at half.
Millersville would come out firing on all cylinders to score 4 unanswered before earning the 8-5 win over their Chesapeake Conference foe.
Brady Jordan scored the first goal of the game for the victors as he then pitched in with 3 assists, several of the no look variety, as the left hander’s quickness led to a new found confidence as the game wore on.
Michael Draeger was tough in the first and last quarters as he earned his first hat trick of the season, scoring back to back goals in the 4th to increase Millerville’s lead.
Originally called out as a FOGO, Cade Little was a force to be reckoned with as the energetic attackman had three critical assists.
With a total of 7 second half saves, Jack Wriggins saved his best for EMD as the netminder had 4 of them while man down.
Making his first start in goal for the Mustangs, senior Andrew Nagle held his own with 7 saves as the converted attackman did an admirable job of keeping the hosts within striking range throughout. Pierce Dushenko led Stevenson with three goals as the senior was crafty around the cage with multiple looks from rebounds and had an epic goal off of a batted ball to give the Mustangs their first lead of the game going into halftime.
